It's not a very big number.
It is, however, the number of days that I've been married.
45.8% of all marriages in this country end in divorce.
Probably a number exceeding the 4.2% remaining to make up a half are estranged or Not Doing Well.
Mine is happy.
I thought about telling y'all the story of how I met and married my wife.
But the problem is,
A: It's interesting to me, but probably not to the rest of the planet, and
B: That's mine. I'll share it with you over a cuppa, some time. But not here. Not this way.
I've got to close here, to go climb in bed with the woman that I've been married to for 10 years.
And in the morning, I've got to figure out what the hell I'm gonna get her that's made of tin.
I love my wife.

Congratulations, y'all. :)
Tin? Perhaps a nice Colonial candle-lantern? The better pie safes often have figured-tin panels in the doors, too.
"Ah doan' keer who you are, that there's sweet."
That's really great. I'll look forward to the announcement of your Silver Anniversary.
I am 59 days ahead of you. I gave my wife a Alaskan cruise for our 10th, August of last year. --- Billy Sparks
Congrats, Matt!
Ya know, those statistics don't mention that a lot of those marriages that end in divorce are a second or third (or more!) go around. So it might be repeat offenders skewing the numbers...
That's what I like to think, anyway.
Congratulations! May peace and happiness always fill your home.
Mr Fixit
Aww...yay! :-D Congratulations, and many more happy years to the two of you!
(buy a tin pie-pan. bake her an apple pie, or a pie that she loves. then you've met the requirement while also having done something "sweet" for her.)
If the gift was a pie safe with punched-tin doors, maybe it would somehow attract pies. Maybe.
Happy anniversary, and congrats!
2,237 days here. Congratulations sir.
The Wolverine Manufacturing Co of Pittsburgh did some neat tin toys. Some are quite classic--and they've got some on ebay. Of course, they are mostly for boys.
Congrats.
Happiest of anniversaries to you and your lovely missus!
Tin = Pewter.
Modern "Pewter" ( "States metal" or Brittania Metal" ) is lead free, but still contains tin.
Congratulations, I hope you have many more. I've been married for 34 years and never regretted it.
Happy anniversary.
I've found serial monogamy to work well for me...married to several women, just one at a time. I'm a big believer in the "pitch 'til you win" philosophy of marriage. I've made it longer with this wife than the previous, and with this one, there's no fighting. I think this one will stick.
Regards,
Rabbit.
Congratulations!
(I like the pie idea. A man who bakes is a keeper, for sure!)
Good on you, bro. And yay for her.
Maybe if my first hadn't been a lesbian, I'd be celebrating my...14th anniversary in a month and a half.
I got a few days on you there. I been married to the current wife for 13,573 days.
I was married to the first wife for 3,287 days. She was a dope head and a loser. I loved her but I couldn't fix her so I threw her out on her ass on day 3,288.
It's a sad thing but my son tells me she's still a doper and a homeless bag lady in Denver these days.
I really tried with everything I had to help her.
Some folks you just can't reach.
I'll be with the current wife until the day I die if she'll put up with me that much longer.
I hope your marriage is as long and happy as my current marriage has been.
Joe
Congratulations! I've known my wife for that long in May, but the marriage has only been since 2000. I look forward to 10 years of the same last name.
Oh, and put me down for that cuppa;)
tweaker
Senior in high school, on a Mother-to-Mother arranged date with a neighborhood Freshman.
HORRIBLE date at Nazi Nuns' school dance.
Scream at Mother, swear will never see that girl again.
Few years later see across the street while home on leave (USAF).
Mom, who was that?
You're kidding.
Several dates later, followed by Vietnam and several more dates.
Been married to her since 1968.
Congratulations, good luck, and go for it.
That was a lovely tribute to your wonderful wife. Congratulations!
Nice.
Here's to many more...
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. G! I pray the next 10 years will be even better than the last.
I love hearing about people who do make it. I'm only a year behind you, and in the on-the-rocks group headed to the statistic group.
Here's to not having an ending.
Happy anniversary and I wish you many many more..my sweetthing has put up with me now for 44 years..and I love her more today than the day I married her.
