The fathers of the Greatest Generation.

Even before our Greatest Generation was born, there were those who fought the First World War to the first Armistice Day. So many died, that it was sometimes called "The Lost Generation".

There are a few --a very few-- who remember serving in that war.

My next door neighbor when I was a kid remembered serving in WWI. It's hard to believe he's been gone well over ten years. He had some interesting stories. He missed going out to fight with his unit because he got pneumonia on the ship on the way over. He ended up driving Colonels around on a motorcycle with a sidecar.
