Without going into details, let me just say again that:
DAMN, but I love the protection that the mobile video camera on my patrol car provides me with.

If you don't draw yours, I won't draw mine. A police officer, working in the small town that he lives in, focusing on family and shooting and coffee, and occasionally putting some people in jail.

Anything we're going to see on TruTV any time soon?
Oh, come on! You cannot leave us hanging like that.
One word:
Vindicated.
Oh we need WAAAAY more words than that!
Matt: Have you tried the video-recording pens? They can be had for $30 on ebay.
You've got something to protect you in the driveway, now you can have something to protect you in the house!
Good!
If there was a reasonable priced model of video capture setup for vehicles, I'd happily run one on my own car. If nothing else, the 'idiot driver' compilation would be a hoot.
Excellent. I'd sure love to hear that tale some day, though.

Matt,
I wholeheartedly agree. Since only 50% of our cars have video, there are certain officers that I have forbidden to drive any car without a camera (high complaint level officers or in copspeak:shitmagnets). It has saved their bacon on more than one ocassion.
Oh, and a few years ago, I had a shooting. My unmarked detective unit didn't have a camera (it wouldn't have seen it anyway I was stading to the driver's side of the car), but the marked unit behind me got the whole thing. Nothing like video evidence proving a justified shoot!
