Can we just admit that the terrorists won?
Bin Laden and his ilk, as disgusting as they are, have been completely successful. They have succeeded even beyond their own wildest dreams: they've got us taking our own freedoms away, so that they don't have to.
We're handling crying little three year-old girls as they sob and scream "stop touching me!"
We're manhandling amputee librarians until they are driven to tears.
We're groping nuns.
Why? So that planes won't fall out of the sky? Or just crash for no apparent reason?
Recall that we got into this frenzy after a bunch of religious extremists took over aircraft with box cutters, 9 years ago. We mandated lockable, hardened cockpit doors. We allowed pilots to go armed. We changed policy from "do what they say at all costs." Our passengers have learned to attack their attackers.
This isn't working.
Fire the TSA, keep the locked cockpit doors and armed pilots, and use the savings to put a few more Air Marshals on the flights. Otherwise, take us back to September 10, 2001, or before.
In the mean time, opt out, and then formally lodge your complaints against what's going on.

I filed my complaint this morning over yesterday's groping... not that it's going to do a lot of good. I did 'hear' there are a lot of nervous TSAers at these sites right now, and they are requesting additional LEO presence.
Hear, hear! Time to write your elected representatives.
Where do I file a protest? I actually will over this...heard yesterday 81% of Americans favor full-body scans. In our fear and demand to be safe, we are ditching privacy left and right. Privacy is deeply related to freedom. In a reverse of the old fairy tale, increasingly we all are being required to walk around with no clothes, and only the few still attired seem to notice.
OK, if I going to do one confession it will be that I agree that our government betrayed all of us.
The terrorist really didn't win....our politicians just lost even without the terrorist. Good article.
I, m'self have refused to board an airliner since some time in the late nineties. The "photo ID", or internal passport, was the last straw for me. You can use any false name you like as long as you don't do it for fraud or other crime. At least that's the way it used to be. Photo-ID fails the "Jews in the Attic" test.
WV: naters. That would be homos who are not brave enough to go for the full sodomy, and just stick it between the thighs. Sissies.
I can understand the worry about "Big Brother" taking your rights away, but to go thru the metal detector 4 times without telling the operator that you have a prosthetic limb is just ridiculous. I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone should be ashamed or embarrassed about needing one for whatever reason, and obviously it is going to set off the alarm,so why on earth didn't she tell them about it.It may not have prevented her from being searched as she was, but it would have stopped her from becoming upset from the repeated setting off of the alarm and the resulting attitude from the operator.
Somehown, Mally, she had managed to fly without such theatre in the past, and the planes hadn't blown up.
We could all be safer. Just put us in our own cells, and watch us, 24/7. Lock them, for our own good...
And the bomb in the suicide bomber's size D bra?
How about doing it the (very successful) Israeli way? Profile. (When's the last time a Polish grandmother brought down a plane? How about an Arab or a Moslem?))
