Looks like he got...
...Out-Whataburgered!
Dufus creates "a disturbance" at a drive-through.
Cops are called.
Cop cars arrive. Two in front. (One in back.)
Cops challenge dufus.
Dufus waves a gun (which turned out to be an ultra-realistic pellet gun) at the cops.
Dufus has not taken time to observe cop behind him with an AR15.
Blat, blat.
Meatwagon took delivery from the drive-through, and a certain cop suddenly finds that in fact he will get a chance to take a late summer vacation, after all.
My apologies to y'all not from Texas, who don't get the Whataburger ad campaign reference. Whataburger's kind of a fast food institution down here.

My compliments to the rifleman. May his review hassles be kept to a minimum.
Suicide by cop, or just Stupidity in Motion? Answers on a postcard to the usual addres...
I'm amazed he wasn't dusted by a patron when he started waving his fake gun around. Don't people carry guns down there?
Uhmmm - - Many do, Marko. I've been in that exact business when I could see at least four persons, other than me, that I KNEW were carrying.
The idiot was doing his "gun play" at the drive-through. The way the place is laid out, though, no inside service customers could see the drive-through window except from a certain position at the counter.
Additional details from same newspaper:
And police have charged a second man witnesses say threatened people with the gun, Martin Wynn, 25, of Denton with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The "deadly weapon" charge is valid under Texas law, when the actor convinces a victim that he has one, whether or not he actually possesses such.
Mark - - Probably just the latter. Apparently these two Mensa rejects were BOTH clowning around, passing the Cobra pellet gun between them.
Darwin is long departed but Natural Selection lives on . . . .
I have mutual acquaintances that were on scene, and haven't yet gotten to ask:
A: Suicide by cop, or just stupid?
B: The shooter has his head in the right place, yes?
Action is faster than reaction. The guy was clearly acting in a dangerous manner, and had been reportedly pointing the pistol at restaurant patrons. Failing to take that shot could have allowed the guy to move on from threatener to cop-killer, which is a dangerous thing indeed.
The good news is that there were plenty of witnesses and probably good video to help make the inquest quick and painless.
I noticed this the other day. Thanks for blogging it, Matt.
Denton's paper also confirmed itself once again as a fluffy rag as well in the article.
Regards,
Rabbit.
Stupid SOB got what he deserved. I hope the cop enjoys his mini-vacation and I hope he doesn't feel too bad about shooting the asshole. Killing another human being, no matter what kind of garbage they may be takes something out of you. I know from experience. It just does not feel right even if the other person damn well deserved it. Hopefully the cop will get whatever counseling he needs, get over it and move on with his career. Good luck to him and fuck the asshole that waved a gun at the cops.
One hopes their service to the meatwagon in the drive-thru was faster than their typical service there.
I can almost, almost understand homicidal rage brought on by their slowness.
