I'm pretty sure I heard the scribe ask the timekeeper afterward what date we had started on.

Why wasn't it:

Well, it happens. Especially with artificial constraints like that. Woulda made more sense to shoot dry, reload, shoot until dry, reload.
BUT YOU DID IT!!! :-) It ain't quick, or easy with a snubbie and a speed strip, but it is doable and you probably were NOT the last one done!
Funny, I've been thinking about doing some kind of practical match this summer with snub guns/pocket pistols. A little more realistic than the chances of carrying 60 rounds in four mags on a belt...
On the plus side, I doubt anyone else is crazy enough to run the El Prez with a J-Frame, so you might hold the record.
Ron: Because an El Presidente is ALWAYS: Start 15 yards form three targets that are spread in a line parallel to the firing line. Begin with hands up, facing away from the targets. At the buzzer, turn, draw, and fire, shooting each target twice. After 6 shots (and ONLY 6 shots), reload, and shoot each target twice. No makeups for misses.
I shot 6, reloaded, and shot six. Unfortunately, that necessitates an extra reload, which I bungled every time. For a guy who likes to break 10 seconds on his El Pres, this was a GLACIAL run.
Wow, 15 meters is a long distance. I wonder what kind of time I could put in with the Webley. I think i could get the reload in under 3 seconds, but making sure to hit the target would make it really dicey. I don't think I would come close to your times.
Whoops! My apologies-- I misspoke. It's ten meters to the three targets, spread one meter apart.
You wanna borrow my Blackhawk for next time? Or maybe the single-shot .45LC? :)
Now, funny would have been if Jerry Miculek stepped up to the line with a 2-shot derringer and beat your time.
At ten meters, with some practice (30 minutes or so) I think I could approach 10 seconds. Its cheating with a break-top revolver. But the targets don't know that. Should do it after tax season.
Bill, I bought some .38 S&W cases at my last gun show, just for you, bud.
Snerk!
(But the feeling of moral superiority is priceless. :D )
Bring two backup revolvers.
